It’s a new age, so it’s no longer considered bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding. Believe it or not there are actually some pretty big advantages to a first-look session prior to the wedding. These are our top reasons why you should consider a first look.
1. You Look your Best
The Bride, groom, and bridal party are in top form. The Bride and bridesmaids‘ hair and makeup are still fresh and the Groom and groomsmen are still OK with being in their tuxes. You’re not too exhausted and sick of smiling yet, lol.
2. Privacy & Intimacy
These private moments, before you start taking more formal, posed portraits, are often the most special for the bride and groom. You are able to say a prayer together, or exchange meaningful gifts, relax and think about the moments to come. And if you are anything like me and my husband, we were VERY emotional and preferred we didn’t turn on the water works in front of all of our guests. Some couples have said that if they did a traditional walk down the aisle reveal it wouldn’t have been as special as their first look. They were able to relax and enjoy the moment as long as they waned.
3. Calm Your Nerves
This quiet, contemplative time also serves as a break to calm your nerves. If you’re the anxious type, after a first look, EVERY couples have said they feel so much butter and are ready and excited to take on the rest of the day.
4. A Stress Free Timeline
This is our favorite reason! Getting this step out of the way early in the day makes for a less hectic photography schedule, instead of trying to pack in all of your photos after the ceremony and before the reception. By the end of the day you’re exhausted and just want to enjoy some great food and friends, not take more photos.
Whether you decide to do a first look or go the traditional route we want to make the planning for your day as easy and stress free as possible. We’re here to make that happen no matter which you choose.
