Hannah and Mike’s October wedding day in Chicago reflected Mike’s warmth and Hannah’s effortless beauty and poise. Hannah’s day began at the ever stylish Pendry Hotel whose classic architectural elements and modern lux design is a nod to the city of Chicago itself. The hotel is in a dream location for a wishlist of Chicago photo opportunities including the Art Institute South Garden, the Chicago Riverwalk, and the Wrigley Building. The spectacular fall weather turned moments typically requiring a jacket and hair adjustments into opportunities for photographs of candid hand touches, stolen glances, and shared laughter.
Hannah and Mike exchanged vows in the courtyard of the famed Revel Motor Row – a space that feels more like the garden of an Italian villa than a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Chicago. It would be tempting to pity the wedding planner whose client seeks a venue that is somehow romantic, rustic, and urban chic – but that is exactly what Revel Motor Row encapsulates. We could have spent hours playing with the bride and groom’s shadowed silhouettes by the stained glass windows or losing ourselves down the long hallways trimmed with milk glass and brass lighting. The celebrations continued long into the night. We loved the intentionality and emotion of the choreographed First Dance and Father Daughter Dance, the couples impassioned thank you speech to their guests, and the effortless fun of Hannah’s reception dress as they blasted EDM music.
