The ceremony uniquely blended English and Spanish readings, paying tribute to both Mary Ellen’s and Lou’s backgrounds. One of the most memorable moments came during the El Lazo tradition, a cherished part of Mexican Catholic weddings. A decorative lasso was gently draped around the couple as a symbol of their eternal bond and unity—an emotional moment that honored Lou’s cultural roots and their shared faith.

The rain came and went all day, misting the windows and leaving the grass slick beneath guests’ feet.
