Many of our couples believe they live in one of the best big cities in the world – and we don’t disagree! They live downtown and are intertwined with the heartbeat of Chicago. They know when that posh restaurant in River North has its grand opening, how to score amazing seats to both Broadway shows and the big game, and know enough to keep an extra pair of heels at the office when the weather turns toward snow. Our lovestruck Chicagoans are looking for the perfect downtown venue to capture their I dos, and our Featured Chicago Venue series is meant to help with just that.

Location, location, location! The University Club of Chicago’s coveted location in the heart of downtown makes The Club a standout, authentic Chicago wedding venue. Located at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and E Monroe Street, the club sits on one of the most well known corners in all Chicago.
It’s walking distance from Millennium Park, a green space that regularly features artwork by world-renowned artists, architects, and designers. It is also walking distance from both the Art Institute of Chicago (top photo below) and Lurie Gardens (bottom two photos below) which feature architecture and botanical gardens that make for stunning backgrounds.
Many of our Chicago couples have friends and family spread throughout the States and world, and seek a wedding venue that can extend their hospitality in the form of an all inclusive location. This is another meaningful way in which the University Club of Chicago delivers. It offers comfortable hotel accommodations that are typically less than an hour by CTA public transportation from both O’Hare and Midway Airports. The Club also features several tantalizing restaurants including The Parliament, their contemporary rooftop restaurant, as well as five other dining destinations. Some of our couples have their nuptials elsewhere and opt to host their wedding reception at The Club on account of the amazing catering service and food artistry. Finally, if guests decide to extend their stay in Chicago, the Club is located minutes away from timeless attractions such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Field Museum, John G. Shedd Aquarium and the Magnificent Mile.

One of the less commonly stated reasons our couples choose this venue is because of how it makes them feel. It’s imperative to know that The Club requires you to either be a member or know a member to celebrate your big day there. Many of our couples grew up in and around The Club and celebrating their big day there is a full circle experience that brings up nostalgic, meaningful memories even as they create their own wedding day memories.

The Cathedral is a popular ceremony and reception space because of the high ceilings, large footprint and stunning stained glass windows (top and left photos).
